Pre-Event PR Strategy, Onsite Carpet Support and Post-Event Headlines

The challenge

Annual engagements like Super Bowl are cultural tentpoles that drive an overwhelming amount of brands to compete for headlines. As such, events during the coveted weekend need to employ creative tactics to create noise in a cluttered space. When the iconic media company Rolling Stone partnered with Talent Resources Sports (TRS) for one of the most exclusive events at the biggest weekend in sports, they needed an agency that understood what was at stake. Having vast experience at global cultural tentpoles, The Brand Agency got to work on an unforgettable Super Bowl LVII strategy. Our agency looked to garner attention via curtain raiser press, onsite red carpet management and post event pitching.

Data-driven results

OVER 7.5 BILLION MEDIA IMPRESSIONS & $60 MILLION IN ESTIMATED VALUE

The Brand Agency worked on a pre-event strategy that focused heavily on thought leadership. We secured interviews with business trades and locked in top-tier consumer/entertainment media coverage. Leading up to the event our team reached out to our national press network to secure media attendees onsite. We leveraged agency relationships to secure positive coverage and negotiated bespoke inside access for standalone stories.

Due to The Brand Agency’s efforts, our team was able to secure pre-event coverage in marketing outlets AdWeek, Digiday, and Campaign US, and entertainment trades The Hollywood Reporter and Insider and consumer-focused outlets like PEOPLE, Page Six, Complex, Billboard, and many more. We also locked in hits in local media like ABC 15, AZ Central, KPNX 12 News, and others.

At our event, we hosted a healthy carpet of outlets like BuzzFeed, OK! Magazine, EXTRA, Getty Images, FOX, and Knockturnal. Inside media included Insider, Bloomberg, USA Today, Insider, Complex, and Good Morning America.

Post-event coverage included features on top-tier entertainment outlets like Billboard, Variety, Page Six, E! News, Us Weekly, and PEOPLE, as well as business trade like Sports Business Journal and The New York Times.
