The Challenge

The Brand Agency was tasked with overhauling preconceived notions about the Playboy brand and positioning them as the foremost leader and convener in the sexual wellness space, telling the company’s story and amplifying their editorial pursuits in the media. In doing so, we honored Playboy’s sixty-five year heritage while ensuring the brand was discussed in a way that reflects who they are and where they are heading. ​

The Brand Agency gave Playboy a megaphone in the media and spotlighted how they are continuing to pioneer the sexual wellness space in a way that is in line with modern values and beliefs. We gave legs to the brand’s various sexual wellness initiatives, including their Playboy Live video series, survey on sex, and their “Practice Safe Six” public service announcement in light of the COVID-19 crisis, amongst other notable initiatives. Additionally, The Brand Agency created visibility for Playboy as a modern, forward-thinking brand and peeled-back-the-curtain on how the organization is operating in this new era in the media. We also furthered their editorial narratives by showcasing their cutting-edge journalism and pitching both their quarterly print and online stories to the media for pickup coverage.

Our efforts have challenged pre-conceived notions about the Playboy brand and have poised the company as the original trailblazer in sexual wellness, out-of-the-box journalism and a forward-thinking organization that is the go-to resource for pleasure. We have placed Playboy in almost every top-tier news outlet from The New York Times to AdWeek, Ad Age, HuffPost, Entertainment Tonight, CNN, artnet News, Refinery29, People and more.
