The Challenge

CBS and Paramount+ were getting ready for their upcoming anniversary of “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” and tapped The Brand Agency to help them debut the news of their Summer-long campaign. The franchise worked with Coolhaus to bring free “Wrath of P’Khan” ice cream and ice cream sandwiches to consumers in New York City, Los Angeles and San Diego for the annual Comic-Con.

The Brand Agency team developed a PR roadmap that delineated various press buckets and identified press contacts that would be interested in debuting the news. As a well-known franchise, we targeted major entertainment news outlets to first launch the news exclusively, while reaching out to niche comics outlets, as well as local press in each market to cover the campaign.

As a result of our efforts, The Brand Agency was able to secure coverage in marquee entertainment outlet Collider, as well as national publications like ComicBook.com, IGN and Los Angeles Times. Our team was also able to place local coverage in Eater San Diego, San Diego Tribune, LA Weekly and many more.
