The Challenge

To make waves in the US market, hololive production hosted the first ever hololive night at Dodger Stadium to further educate how VTuber’s are the next wave of content creators that are bound to blow up. This partnership marks a unique fusion of two vibrant cultures, bringing together the excitement of America’s favorite pastime with the captivating new world of VTubers. The event was headlined by popular hololive VTubers VTubers Gawr Gura (4.4M Subscribers), Hoshimachi Suisei (2.3M Subscribers), and Usada Pekora (2.5M Subscribers), who made special announcements and led the crowd in a rendition of "Take Me Out To The Ball Game". The night featured a spectacular hololive drone show and a photo spot with life-size cutouts of the VTubers, creating memorable experiences for attendees. Additionally, the event saw the largest-ever merch lines at Dodger Stadium, featuring limited-edition items such as hololive production trading cards featuring the VTubers in Dodgers uniforms, and Gawr Gura Dodgers uniform T-shirts which are now being sold on eBay for $200+.

The Brand Agency implemented our signature three-pronged event strategy, driving visibility for hololive Night At Dodgers Stadium before, during and after the festivities. We tapped press at leading outlets in the entertainment, gaming, sports, and local LA spaces to secure coverage and generate headlines to bring about awareness of what VTubers are and how hololive is a cultural zeitgeist in this new frontier industry. Our strategy paid off in dividends and resulted in over 1.5 billion media impressions with a full digital and in-print feature in LA Times, Tubefilter, Comic Book Resources, Anime Trending, Anime Corner, Uncover LA, Sports Business Journal, Yardbarker, Niche Gamer, and many more.
